NABERS

The National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) is a government initiative to measure and compare the environmental performance of a building against its market. NABERS can be used to measure a buildings operational energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality and waste recovery.

NABERS rating systems are currently developed for Retail, Office and Hotels.

Using established NABERS methodologies and protocols a NABERS assessor can conduct an assessment of your building. Performance is measured on a scale from 1 to 5 stars, with 2.5 stars representing market median performance. Building owners are able to display and promote their rating as part of your marketing collateral and reports while the rating is valid.

NABERS has strong industry backing with many property owners and tennants using the system to annually measure their buildings performance. This rating system for existing buildings provides the basis for the future building energy efficiency mandatory disclosure initiative.
