Build Sustainable Pty Ltd is a building and design consultancy company accredited by the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA), Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the American Institute of Constructors (AIC). Formed by its directors in response to the growing awareness of environmental sustainability and demand for more energy efficient buildings; Build Sustainable services four core client groups:

Beckham Price – Director

Beckham Price began his career in building design consultancy after five years working as a Construction Manager on large scale commercial projects in the United States. Realizing the tremendous resource inefficiency of the ‘business as usual’ approach to building design and construction; Beck dedicated himself to helping to reshape our built environment. That decision brought him to Australia where he completed a Master of Design Science in Sustainable Design at Sydney University to complement his undergraduate degree in Construction Management. Since then he has worked on a wide range of projects focusing on environmental sustainability culminating in the establishment of Build Sustainable.

As a Green Building Council of Australia Green Star Assessor as well as a U.S. Green Building Council L.E.E.D Accredited Professional, he is current with industry benchmarks and trends that impact how value is measured in today’s marketplace. This knowledge, paired with his time working on high dollar, complex building design and construction projects allows him to understand the full project development lifecycle and how each phase is impacted by the increased focus on resource and operational efficiency; elements that are increasingly critical in today’s built environment.

Martin Carlin – Managing Director

Martin made the transition from business development in the offshore investment finance sector to sustaining the built environment because of his recognition of the need for specialty services to respond to the effects of the built environment on climate change. Martin established Build Sustainable to answer that call and in the past 3 years has worked on several major projects providing energy efficiency and thermal performance assessment services. He is accredited by the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA) to provide thermal performance assessments for new and existing buildings and perform Home Sustainability Assessments as a partner with the Federal Government in the Green Loans Program.  

Working with stakeholders across various industries Martin assists clients in understanding and planning for future legislative reporting and disclosure requirements for the energy efficiency of existing and new buildings.  His technical skills and business development expertise gives Martin  a great degree of empathy in arriving at cost effective and appropriate solutions to these complex issues.
